For more than 30 years AARNet has provided reliable telecommunications services, along with an expanding range of cyber security, data and collaboration services. Our network and services are designed to meet the specialised needs of Australia's research and education sector.
The NSF’s ACCESS (Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Coordination Ecosystem: Services & Support) program builds upon the successes of the 11-year XSEDE project, while also expanding the ecosystem with capabilities for new modes of research and further democratizing participation.
CoCo provides a listing of communities of Research Computing, Data, and Software Professionals. It is maintained by the Community of Communities Working Group that was formed as a result of the National Science Foundation's 2020 Cyberinfrastructure Workforce Workshop.
DataCite is a leading global non-profit organisation that provides persistent identifiers (DOIs) for research data and other research outputs. Organizations within the research community join DataCite as members to be able to assign DOIs to all their research outputs. This way, their outputs become discoverable and associated metadata is made available to the community.
The Energy Department's 17 National Labs tackle the critical scientific challenges of our time -- from combating climate change to discovering the origins of our universe -- and possess unique instruments and facilities, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. They address large scale, complex research and development challenges with a multidisciplinary approach that places an emphasis on translating basic science to innovation.
The Digital Research Alliance of Canada (the Alliance) serves Canadian researchers, with the objective of advancing Canada’s position as a leader in the knowledge economy on the international stage. By integrating, championing and funding the infrastructure and activities required for advanced research computing (ARC), research data management (RDM) and research software (RS), we provide the platform for the research community to access tools and services faster than ever before.
ESnet is the Department of Energy's dedicated science network, helping researchers meet their goals from experiment to discovery. ESnet provides high-bandwidth, reliable connections that link scientists at national laboratories, universities, and other research institutions, enabling them to collaborate on some of the world's most important scientific challenges, including energy, climate science, and the origins of the universe.
InCommon provides Identity and Access Management (IAM) for Research and Education at scale. InCommon identity and access management solutions are built on standards and designed by and for higher education and research. The InCommon community developed the specs, the services, and the software. InCommon integrated service and software solutions address the need for single sign-on (SSO), access to cloud and local services, and seamless global collaboration for students, faculty, staff, and researchers.
Internet2 is a community providing a secure high-speed network, cloud solutions, research support, and services tailored for research and education. Since our founding, Internet2 and our community of research and education partners have worked together to solve technology challenges and develop solutions to advance research. Our community includes higher education, research institutions, government entities, corporations and cultural organizations.
New Zealand eScience Infrastructure (NeSI) designs, builds, and operates a specialised platform of high performance computing infrastructure and eResearch services. Since 2014, NeSI has partnered with Globus to lower barriers and normalise expectations of moving demanding volumes of data to enable data intensive science.
The National Integrated Cyberinfrastructure is a national initiative of the Department of Science and Innovation and implemented by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in South Africa. A key objective of NICIS is to enable South Africa to effectively participate in, and lead, large-scale global research and science projects.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency. The NIH is the world’s largest source of medical research funding and the driving force behind decades of advances that have expanded fundamental scientific knowledge and improved health. NIH’s mission is to seek fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and to apply that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability. The NIH supports basic, translational, and clinical research.
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 "to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense..." NSF is vital because we support basic research and people to create knowledge that transforms the future. This type of support is a primary driver of the U.S. economy, enhances the nation's security and advances knowledge to sustain global leadership.
ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier (an ORCID iD) that you own and control, and that distinguishes you from every other researcher. You can connect your iD with your professional information — affiliations, grants, publications, peer review, and more. You can use your iD to share your information with other systems, ensuring you get recognition for all your contributions, saving you time and hassle, and reducing the risk of errors.
As an NSF-funded Center of Excellence, SGX3 supports researchers and teams running or operating a science gateway. SGX3 can support Globus users by sharing technical insight on science gateway platforms where data and research products can be stored or accessed. SGX3 offers a full range of services and expertise, including: building and running gateways, community resources and networking, and education and training.
