NCAR uses Globus for RDA data distribution
June 24, 2015 | Vas Vasiliadis
We're thrilled to see NCAR using Globus to distribute data from their Research Data Archive (RDA). The RDA contains a large and diverse collection of meteorological and oceanographic observations, operational and reanalysis model outputs, and remote sensing datasets to support atmospheric and geosciences research.
Constructed over a period spanning 40+ years, the RDA serves as a source of reference data—much of it irreplaceable observation data—for researchers worldwide. In 2014 alone, the RDA served more than 1.1 petabytes of data to over 11,000 users, fulfilling more than 45,000 customized data requests. Read the blog post on NCAR's website to see how Globus works with the RDA.
